A historic announcement was made at the 15th International Conference on Sustainable Waste Management & Circular Economy and the IPLA Global Forum 2025—reflecting AT India’s deep commitment to climate justice and community resilience.

In the distinguished presence of Subodh Uniyal, Hon. Minister of Forests, Languages and Technical Education, Government of Uttarakhand; Narpinder Singh, Vice Chancellor, Graphic Era Deemed to be University Era University; Oladele Ogunseitan, UC Irvine; and Ezra Osorio, Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES) Japan, Appropriate Technology India (ATIndia) Our President Prof. S. P. Singh and Secretary Dr. Rajesh Naithani. proudly introduced the Carbon Justice Award.

This annual award is being instituted in honour of the outstanding contribution and visionary leadership of our President, Prof. S. P. Singh (@S. P. Singh), whose lifelong dedication has inspired countless individuals and institutions to pursue environmental protection with integrity, compassion, and scientific depth.

The Carbon Justice Award will recognise individuals, organisations, and community champions who:
• Lead transformative efforts for climate equity.
• Support vulnerable communities disproportionately impacted by climate change.
